Celebrate the Holidays with us...Winter Break 2017-2018

Hi Friends!  I have returned “To the Woods” from Winter Break.  Over the holiday, I spent time with family, shopped for a vehicle, and had several interviews for summer intern graphic design positions.  The Weber Family is a LARGE group; 40 of us gathered at my aunt and uncle’s house to celebrate Christmas.  The ages range from one to 85.  I am blessed to have both my grandparents living.  After the holiday, my parents and I shopped for vehicle.  I am looking at a silver jeep, but that hasn’t come through yet.  I also had the opportunity to interview for several summer intern positions.  My hope is that one of them come through and I’ll be set for the summer.

I spent a lot of time with my family this winter break, most of the time making sugar cookies and th to January 2nd, I was hired to housesit and take care of some friends’ animals. They have horses, a donkey, 2 goats, 2 cats and a frisky Great Pyrenees. The fun thing about the job was that my friends live directly next to my riding stable, so between cleaning, feeding, grooming and riding their animals, I was able to go next door and hang out with my instructors and friends who came to ride. My instructor also hired me to clean their stalls for a few days, so the extra income was a nice bonus. However, because I was housesitting and spending the night there, I spent New Year’s Eve alone for the first time. The night was quiet and very different from celebrating the countdown with my crazy family, but it was strangely nice to celebrate on my own. I am growing up and developing my own life and independence. I won’t be living with my family forever. But I am glad that I have a home to come to and am able to spend December with them! The break was the perfect opportunity to unwind, recuperate, and prepare for the next semester.
playing board games. My 3 younger brothers and I (and occasionally my parents) played games like Settlers of Catan, Guess Who, and various card games. Another highlight was seeing the new Star Wars movie. Twice. I also slept a lot! It was really nice to be able to relax and not have any pressure of homework or deadlines stressing me out. On Christmas day, my older brother came to visit. I have not seen him or talked to him for several months, so it was really fun to see him again! My mom and I went to Painting with a Twist and painted a wintery owl. I was surprised that my painting turned out alright! From December 28

Hi guys! Its Morgan. Over our month-long winter break, my family and I took a trip to Paris, France. It was one of the most amazing cities that I have ever visited. During the duration of our trip we went on a 4- hour bike tour that took us to some of the best places like the Louvre, where they have the Mona Lisa painting, the restaurant where Thomas Jefferson began the first draft of the declaration of independence, and the Notre Dame church where we ended up going to church on Christmas day. As a family we also visited the Arch de triumph We got to go to the top, so we were able to see a panorama view of Paris, as well as the Eiffel Tower at night and in the day. Fun fact, every hour the whole Eiffel tower twinkles with lights and the show lasts for approximately five minutes and we were able to be at the top at night while it was sparkling. We also had many crepe tastings including an amazing Nutella, banana, strawberry, whipped cream and ice cream on top! It was delicious. We had some great Italian food and also my first real macaron. I could not fit my week-long trip into this special post, but I was able to point out some of my favorite and most memorable parts.

Hey guys! Winter break is always something to look forward to in-between

semesters or when you’re still in grade school. My break lasted for a month, which felt like only a few weeks. My break was nothing spectacular, until the end. At the beginning of break and all the way up until I left for my trip to Belize, which you can read all about here, I babysat my cousins who are 2 and 4. They are both hyper active and love Disney Jr, so I watched Disney Jr. I left for Belize on December 29th and came back on January 5th and the next day was CA training. So, my break I babysat and went on a mini vacation to warmer climate, I’m only looking forward to Summer vacation a little bit more now.

Until the ‘morrow we will speak again

Nothing incredibly exciting happened at my house over break. I worked for the first two weeks of vacation at the daycare near my house. I love the kids there and I work with one of the girls on the Dance Team here at school which is nice. After the first two weeks I took some time off for myself, I celebrated Christmas with both my mom's parents on Dec 23rd, and my Dad's family (I believe there were about 65 people there which is about 1/2 to 2/3 of my family) on Christmas Day. For New Years we stayed home and invited a few people over (there were eight including my family). I was also able to go to my church back home which was nice. We meet on Wednesday nights instead of Sunday mornings so I haven't been able to go since August and i missed everyone. The last thing I wanted to tell all of you is that some of my friends back home and I started an ASL YouTube Channel called Signer Squad so you guys can check that out if you want.
Love God, Love others, Love Disney
